Foundation of International Medical Relief of Children(FIMRIC)- Forest Hills High School, Forest Hills, NY, 11375

Start and end date: September 2017- December 2018

Hrs: 40

Description: Participated in a club where we brainstormed ideas to develop fundraising for the Foundation of International Medical Relief of Children. An example of how we raised money was by selling wristbands and pens. As a group, we raised about 200 dollars in this fundraiser. This money is used to make the vaccines needed for children free of cost, as most families cannot pay for them in different areas of the world. This experience brought perspective into my life and allowed me to appreciate the circumstances I live in compared to others in the world.

Green Team Neighborhood Clean up - Fresh Meadows Corona Park 11354

Start and end date: November 2018

Hrs: 2

Description: In this experience, the Green team in my High School scheduled a Park clean-up day in which we went to the local park and walked around for about a mile and a half, picking up items that were littered by other individuals. Although the effect was not massive, it allowed our group to be a part of an effort to change and begin to take care of the world we live in. Global Warming is a real danger in society and the small steps such as picking up garbage help midgate the problems that we can possibly face in the future.

Afterward, on a Sunday in October, we traveled two miles around Flushing Meadows Corona Park to support the cause. In this experience, I discussed breast cancer with multiple individuals who were part of the walk and understood the impacts it has had on multiple families.

Other Accomplishments: Dhimitri Terolli
Speaking Spanish

One of my significant accomplishments is communicating in Spanish amongst my coworkers at my previous job.

Learning Spanish has been an essential part of my growth as its one of the most spoken languages in the United States. Although most high school students try to do the bare minimum in language classes, I was able to take the information I learned and use it to my advantage to communicate amongst my coworkers that don't speak English and with customers in need of help. Taking from my parent's ability to pick languages up quickly, I used it to my advantage. Now I try to communicate in Spanish to become bilingual. Although taking a language class may seem like a waste of time, there are many benefits if enough time is put into it.

My Top five strengths and reflection: adaptability, competition, includer, arranger, woo

The thing that surprised me about my five strengths is that it is very closely related to my character traits and how I try to connect with other individuals. My adaptability comes from being versatile and being able to live in the present rather than the future. My competition strength comes from my ability to work hard against my rivals. While, includer, arranger and woo traits come from my ability to lead a group of individuals while also being open to meeting new people with new ideas. The strengths found in the Clifton Strengths Assessment are valid and will benefit me in workplace environments. Being able to communicate with a group of people while also being competitive and adaptable to my surroundings will allow me to excel at any goal I have in mind.

1.  A pharmacist is a medical official who specializes in the use of medicine and is able to dispense it to individuals in need.

2. I chose Pharmacy because it allows me to be a part of the medical community while also pursuing a goal of mine to help as many people as I can.

3.  I chose Pharmacy at St.Johns because its regarded as one of the top pharmacy programs in the city and the campus environment is what I was looking for in a college.
