It is my firm belief that transparency, honesty, and knowledge are important aspects of healthcare which can improve patient-doctor relationships and can lead to overall improvements in the quality of care. I chose this career after seeing first-hand what the job is about spending time with Armando of Aj's Ridgewood Chemist. Armando has been a pharmacist for many years and deals with a wide variety of patients everyday. Armando has the skills to deal with everyone uniquely and works with every patient that walks through his doors with individual care. I've seen Armando even give medication without the patient paying if they are in dire need. I want to become a pharmacist so that I can see my patients smile when they are leaving with their medication knowing they have nothing to fear when taking their medication. My vision for pharmacy practice is to have the knowledge and skills to be ready to give patients both their medications and any necessary information needed. My goals are to one day have my own pharmacy or at least have caused a major impact on people's lives and to play a role in increasing the well-being of my community, I plan to achieve my goals by working in various places throughout my career and once I believe that I have acquired all the experience that I need then I will open my own pharmacy store.
- Maintaining my status as a Saint John's University student in the PharmD program
- Understand the roles, actions, and consequences that a pharmacist has
- Working towards a job and interacting with patients daily (work experience)
- Securing a stable career as a pharmacist
- Able to make on the spot decisions
- Able to focus on both my mental and physical health

- Help others understand what a pharmacist really is
- Build close personal relationships with my patients

One of my biggest accomplishments that I am proud of joining my high school handball team in the beginning of my sophmore year.
Handball is an activity where two teams slap a ball against a wall and tries to make the other person fumble. Personally, this simple activity means much more than it meets the eye. I've been a shy person in school and I haven't done any other sports or clubs since I didn't really enjoy what was offered, but after trying out handball I fell in love. Instead of practicing once a week with the team I practiced everyday at my nearest park for hours at a time, after a couple of months I understood the rules, footwork, and hand motion of this sport. I am currently trying to perfect my moves as handball has become part of my life and has became a major stress reliever.
The only strength that really supirsed me is arranger beacuse I am sometimes all over the place yet I am still able to understand what I have to do first in order to get my job done.
I plan on using my strengths to bring out my full potential so that I can be the best version of me that is possible
Describe, in your own words, what is a pharmacist?
A pharmacist is someone who is able to talk you through your medication and try to answer all the questions that you may have about your medication. Pharmacists should be able to know what medication to give based on the symptons a patient describes to you and how often it should be taken.
Why did you personally choose pharmacy as your major?
I chose pharmacy as my major because I saw first hand experience of how a pharmacist should act in a professional environment. I personally believe that I am able to mimic, if not, be better and provide a sense of security for my patients
Why did you choose to study pharmacy here at Saint John's University?
Other than having the knowledge of one of the few colleges that I knew were close to me, my boss who runs Aj's Ridgewood Chemist offered me a incentive to going here. If I was able to graduate from this pharmacy program then I would be able to work side by side with him once I am done with college.
