Projects: Adley Pabon
HUSS220 – Theory, Assessment, and Interventions of Addiction
This project focused on evaluating and treating a client with long-term alcohol use and co-occurring mental health issues. I selected Case #1 (Ethan) and used the biopsychosocial model to identify biological, psychological, and social factors contributing to his addiction. I analyzed potential co-occurring disorders, applied DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, and explored treatment options to address his substance use and family needs. This project helped me develop skills in assessment, treatment planning, and connecting theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios in addiction counseling.

Program Outcome:

  • Assess individual and family needs to determine eligibility and identify appropriate services.
