My Bio: Marissa Galicia
About Me
Hi,
I'm Marissa Galicia. I have lived in Wallingford, CT almost my whole life. I have a brother and sister. We got our first dog during COVID. He is a boston terrier named Chupi. In my free time I love to read, paint my nails, and hang out with friends. I love the beach and when I get older I want to live in RI near the beach. I have danced since I have been 3. I still dance occasionally, but now I have turned my passion into teaching. Teaching dance twice a week is the best part of my week.
Here at UCONN, I am involved in Alpha Chi Omega a social sororities who's philanthropy is domestic violence awareness. Through this sorority I have met some of my best friends who share the same passion to spread awareness that I do.
In the future, I hope to be a pediatric pharmacist. I love working with the pediatric population and want to change kids health. I look up to my current preceptor Dr. Girotto, who is currently a pediatric pharmacist.

Professional Goal: Become a Pediatric Pharmacist
Currently, I am on a pediatric track here at UCONN. My goal is to do a residency after I graduate and then to work as a peds pharmacist. HuskyTHON is a year long fundraiser for Connecticut Children's Hospital. I l love the message that HuskyTHON spreads and it has really inspired me to work with the pediatric population. Also, growing up, I assisted with dance classes and realized I love working with children and watching them get better at dance and advance in their skills. I would love to help ill children get better, so they could have the chance to dance.

Personal Goal: Run a marathon
I ran my first half marathon in January of 2022 in Disney World. I plan to return back to Disney world in January of 2024 to complete another half marathon. I plan for this to be my last half marathon and the start of the training for my full marathon. My aunt has run 6 marathons in her life time. She is the one who I have ran and will be running with in Disney. She inspires me everyday to work hard and therefore I plan on dedicating my first marathon to her.
