What is a fellowship? A Fellowship is the period of medical training, in the United States and Canada, that a physician, dentist, pharmacist,or veterinarian may undertake after completing a specialty training program (residency). During this time (usually more than one year), the practitioner is known as a Fellow. Fellows are capable of acting as an Attending Physician or a Consultant Physician in the generalist field in which they were trained, such as Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.

Child Health Research- Pediatric and Adolescent Anxiety

(Charles H. Hood Foundation,  $165,000)

The Hood Foundation is singularly focused on improving the health and well-being of children. The Hood Foundation seeks out cutting edge research and initiatives in the critical phases of development that may have a higher risk, but also have the potential for greater impact.

Our research aims to investigate the mechanisms by which perfectionism, social support, emotion regulation, etc contribute to the development of anxiety disorders. Currently, we are collecting data from a large cohort in an effort to clarify the factors associated with the development and maintenance of anxiety in pediatrics.
