As a Human Resource Specialist, have over 15 years of customer service experience from various jobs. My education background consists of several years of education from Miller-Motte College with a Diploma in Network Security Administration, and an Associates degree from Bryant & Stratton College for Human Resource Specialists. I was a mentor at the Greenville Boys & Girls Club in Greenville, NC. For 7 years I worked as a Project Coordinator for Strata Solar in Chapel Hill, NC. I have a unique perspective on the businesses they work for due to the nature of their jobs. Not only do I have a strong understanding of an organization’s priorities and challenges, but furthermore that guides performance improvement plans. This ultimately provides you the rewarding opportunity to not just improve the organization as a whole but also the individual employees you work alongside. I know that HR plays a fundamental role in a business’s operations, and that doesn’t appear likely to change any time soon. In this position, spotting and addressing a problem area is going to pay off. I have the opportunity to smooth out organizational kinks before they become company-wide knots. It will be gratifying to see employees go from being frustrated because they’re having a problem with their manager to feeling productive and appreciated. I am looking forward to making the new hires feel welcome and ready to join the team. There will be a host of new places, people, and processes to learn. I am confident in developing a quality onboarding experience that will ease the stress of a new job and ensure they are set up for success. I’m prepared to stay on my toes when working in HR. One day, I may be helping an employee navigate changes to their health insurance, and the next, I could be dealing with the effects of new laws or regulations. Challenges like these can keep the work engaging, no matter how long you’re in the field. Not every entry-level employee has a clear plan for the direction of their career. HR professionals have the opportunity to guide and, when appropriate, nudge employees toward pursuing new career opportunities. I am excited to be a mentor, I get to help employees find what works for them. I believe in the aspiration:
- Help build respect and trust from others.
- Motivate and inspire better character from others.
- Build self-respect and confidence.
- Provide a framework for making important decisions and choices.
- Reflect leadership qualities in personal and professional endeavors.
