Write Reflection Here:: | It was a first time that I had a chance to be in a retail pharmacy . It was interesting experience and I learned various process and procedures in the cvs pharmacy . The first two weeks I tried to shadow my preceptor while he did immunization and prescription verification and patient consultation. It was interesting that the pharmacist should be multitask and accurate. I made to times error in RX production and both times the pharmacist catch my error before handing the prescription to the patient . It was a positive experience and Im really happy that I had a chance to work with pharmacy team and gain experience in the pharmacy field prior my graduation . The retail pharmacy is a fast pace work environment and catching up with it was one of the challenges that I had in the first two weeks of my rotation.Im so thankful that my preceptor with calmness and care answered my questions and guide me to learn better. |

Write Reflection Here:: | It was a pleasure to work and learn from a professional pharmacy team in a cvs retail pharmacy . I had a chance to gain experience in two different working areas , institutional and community setting. These two setting are similar in some aspects but generally their defined tasks are so different . In the community setting you can interacts more with patients and providers regarding the prescriptions , refills, third party payment and immunization. The customer service and patient satisfaction was priority of all the staff and I saw how pharmacists solve the patients problems and consult them professionally. To be a pharmacist in the retail setting is really tough and pharmacist should always manage their tasks and duty precisely and in a timely manner. Thanks to CVS and my preceptor to having me in the pharmacy and thought me the different steps of the work flow with care and patience. It was a great opportunity to learn . My career goal was to work as a pharmacist in institutional setting however, I liked working with pharmacy team in retail setting as well . Im looking forward to gain more experience and would have better insight to decide on my future career goals. |

Write Reflection Here:: | IPPE Institutional Rotation Reflection 1 During my rotation, I had a chance to work with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The experience was so valuable to me because I would like to continue my career in the institutional settings, and it was my first experience to be in a Rehabilitation center and learn from an interprofessional team. The medication machine which is used in the institutional setting was one of the interesting devices that I had a chance to operate. All the medication orders are verified by the pharmacist and will collect and pack by the pharmacy technician in the pharmacy and then will deliver to each medication room on different floors. All the counts and expiration dates will be verified and corrected by the technician. The automated medication cabinet would avoid various errors in dispensing and administration of medication to the patient and as well it ensures the availability of medication for patients and help the pharmacist to have control over the inventory, especially the controlled substances. It was a positive experience seeing how automated medication machines would help the health care team to work synchronized and reduce the several types of errors that can occur in dispensing the medication. The feeling behind my experience is that I tried to compare this automated system with the hospital systems in my home country and I found many of the errors that are occurring in the hospital system of my country can easily avoid by automated medication machines. I would try my best to learn more about medication dispensing during the rest of the rotation block and learn more from my preceptor and pharmacy team. |

Write Reflection Here:: | I attended my first rotation block in the encompass health rehabilitation center. I had a chance to work with interprofessional teams under the supervision of my preceptors. My career goal was to work as a pharmacist in an institutional setting. I like to actively participate in patient-oriented care processes. This experience reaffirmed my career goal. Pharmacists can develop their knowledge while working directly with other health care professionals like nurses, health care providers, and physical therapists. The Rehabilitation center was actively practicing patient-oriented process and the pharmacist's team constantly collaborated with each other to increase patient satisfaction and safety. I helped the technician in pulling, dispensing, and delivering medications to the med rooms. I also learned to repack the medications from bulk to the unite dose. My preceptor exposed me to the pharmacist side of the practice and taught me the admission process, medication reconciliation, and verification of orders. I had an opportunity to see the practice side and attend patient interviews with APPE students under the supervision of my preceptor. It was a pleasure to be at Encompass health and I had a positive learning experience. I will try to focus more on my weak points and convert them to strengths. |
