Other Accomplishments: Cydore Nguni Tatsa
Independent Medical Research on Neurological Disorders
Organization: Independent Study. 05/30/2024
One accomplishment that I am particularly proud of is conducting independent research on neurological disorders, specifically Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) and hydrocephalus. My interest in these topics developed through personal experiences that motivated me to better understand how neurological conditions affect patients and how they are treated medically.
During this research, I explored scientific articles, medical resources, and treatment methods used by healthcare professionals. I studied how medications and medical interventions are used to manage these conditions and how pharmacists contribute to patient care through medication management and education.
Although this research was conducted independently, it required dedication, discipline, and strong curiosity about medicine and science. Through this process, I strengthened my ability to analyze complex medical information and developed a deeper appreciation for the role pharmacists play in healthcare.
This accomplishment is meaningful to me because it represents my commitment to learning about medicine beyond the classroom. It reinforced my decision to pursue a career in pharmacy and motivated me to continue expanding my knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences and patient care.

What does being a pharmacist mean?
To me, being a pharmacist means being a trusted healthcare professional who ensures that medications are used safely, effectively, and responsibly. Pharmacists play an important role in patient care by helping people understand their medications, preventing harmful drug interactions, and supporting overall health outcomes. A pharmacist must possess strong scientific knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to helping others. Beyond simply dispensing medications, pharmacists serve as educators and advisors who help patients make informed decisions about their health. Being a pharmacist means combining scientific knowledge with compassion in order to improve the well-being of individuals and communities.
Why did you personally choose Pharmacy as your major?
