Hello, my name is Alison. I work as a laboratory assistant/phlebotomist at Hillsdale Hospital and attend Bryant & Stratton College full-time. Taking care of my three toddlers occupies the majority of my time. In August 2022, I will receive my Associate in Applied Science with a major in medical coding and billing.

Short & Long Term Goals
I'm just looking for a way to make a name for myself in the field of health information technology. I'd like to put my abilities to good use and make a difference. My ambition is to find a career that recognizes my value and worth. Medical coding is my favorite aspect of this industry. I enjoy abstracting records, conducting research, and pinpointing each crucial part of each patient visit. I want to devote myself to continue my coding knowledge by utilizing my AHIMA membership to gain access to current coding material.
My long term ambition is to work in a comfortable HIT position that I like. Every morning, I want to look forward to going
to work. If I decide to pursue a career in medical coding, I want to work as a Coding Director. I intend to be paid a wage that is commensurate with my value and worth. I am ambitious and want to succeed, but I also want to prioritize my family. I want to work for a firm that I admire and am pleased to be associated with. In order to achieve my aim of continuous personal and professional progress, I will continue to improve myself and further my education.
