Please describe your interprofessional experience and how you contributed to the health care team. Include the location, describe the situation and what you learned from this experience. : | There was a medical student and a doctor from the clinic, Dr.Smith allowed us to assess the patient first and take notes and talk to him about it. I took the patient's blood pressure, and asked him about his past medical history/medications and he had throat cancer and was taking ibuprofen over the counter for pain and he was taking an excessive amount and I had told him to not take it at once and potentially can cause GI side effects and ulcers for his age. He was not from CT and his insurance did not carry through and the medical student counseled him on the importance of PET scan and we referred him to the community worker at the clinic to see what they can do about the insurance and this experience had give me real patient care experience where I get to use my expertise in pharmacy and even just counsel the littlest thing it could make a big difference. |
