Bridging the Gaps: Mental Health Policy, Diagnosis, and Real-Life Impact
This essay shows why legal parity alone won’t fix mental health inequities: it explains how the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act improved insurance rules, why DSM-5-TR diagnostic updates matter for fairer clinical recognition, and uses hoarding disorder to reveal the real-life costs to individuals, families, and communities View

Member, Zeta Amicae of Chattanooga
This title reflects your affiliation with the Zeta Amicae auxiliary, which is part of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.—a historically Black sorority that includes Amicae chapters for women who support the sorority’s mission but are not members of the sorority itself.

  • Community Supporter: As an Amicae member, you help uplift Zeta Phi Beta’s initiatives in education, service, and sisterhood.

  • Auxiliary Role: You’re part of a respected auxiliary that often assists with chapter events, outreach programs, and scholarship efforts.

  • Service-Oriented: Your involvement may include volunteering, fundraising, mentoring, and representing the chapter at local functions.

  • Sisterhood & Growth: Even as a general member, you’re part of a network of women committed to personal development, civic engagement, and social impact.

If I ever take on a leadership role—like secretary, treasurer, or committee chair my title would reflect that. But as a proud member, I presence alone contributes to the strength and visibility of the Chattanooga chapter.
