My name is Gina and I grew up in the very small town of Luna Pier, MI. I attended Mason Consolidated from Kindergarten through graduation. I love the outdoors and have always been involved in sports throughout my school years. Journalism was my dream career back in those days but I still enjoy writing and reading in my spare time. When I'm not working or doing homework I love making nautical decor from old pallets. It's a nice pastime and I make a little extra money on the side. I go camping a lot sometimes with the grandchildren and that is how I plan on spending my retirement days while traveling around in our RV.

I have learned a lot through my courses at Bryant & Stratton College that will elevate my skills and chances of getting the dream career.  I believe that you should never stop learning and gain knowledge, whether it be through school, professional, or personal because we can use these tools any many forms in the decision making process of our lives.

To me, my personal and professional goals are innertwined because I am going to school for my Accounting Degree so that I can work for myself in a pre-retirement state. I will be spending my personal time traveling in an RV while still being able to do my job virtually. I believe that this pandemic is going to and has changed how we work in the future. I plan on taking advantage of our new workplace decisions and that is how I will combine my personal and professional goals into one goal.

This Portfolio project demonstrates the knowledge that I have gained and relates to the course outcome of explaining the role of business in a global environment. I am explaining and displaying the reasons these two companies function their companies in the capacity that they do and I give my thoughts on what they could do to market it through different sources to reach various groups that they have not targeted.

The Institutional outcome that relates to this project is, "Information Literacy and Communication - Use technology to research, collect, and evaluate information in written format. This shows that I used my gained knowledge find resources through technology and use those resources to make informed decisions on these two companies.

Portfolio Project 2 is a scenario of a business that needs a security consultant to advise them on expanding their business and what will be needed to protect the PII of their employees and investors. This project demonstrates knowledge of numeric measurements within the business environment to make informed decisions. By showing the CEO and Board Members their repercussions if they do or do not choose to pay for a new cybersecurity system to protect the company and why they should take my advice.

The Institutional Outcome that is reflected by this Portfolio project is "Quantative and Scientific Reasoning - Follow established methods of inquiry and mathematical reasoning to form conclusions and make decisions." By showing these investors their option to spend the money makes more sense than not spending it because in the long run they will be paying more through civil suits and criminal charges.

I understand that my Business Plan is not a Portfolio Project, however, I believe that it demonstrates a course outcome in a descriptive way. Understanding marketing and knowing where goods will be sold better in certain regions of the world, understanding the amount of money needed and ability to show financial investors in written form my reasons for a start up loan for a new business.

The institutional outcome that relates to this business plan is "Community and Career- Participate in social, academic, and professional communities for individual growth and to function as a citizen of a multicultural world." I will be participating in social and professional communities through flea markets and craft shows throughout the United States and will deal with people from all races and religions in different regions.
