My inspiration to pursue pharmacy is my sister’s Vitiligo. She has monthly checkups and needs different prescriptions from the pharmacy which is very essential for her skin health. I would like to influence other people’s lives in a positive way. I love the idea of aiding such a large metropolitan area and St. John’s offers more than 160 affiliated clinical pharmacy sites throughout the New York area. Distributing a medication can change someone’s physical and mental health. Another reason why I chose St. John’s is it has one of the best ranked pharmacy programs in New York. It is very comforting knowing I can be lead in the right direction but also be challenged along the way. My experience as a junior firefighter has taught me the importance of having good relationships with people so I’ll be prepared to work with my coworkers and classmates in real world pharmacy settings.
