I had the privilege to teach the toddler I babysat how to read before she ever entered school. I had to overcome a language barrier due to the fact she only spoke English.
My love for children and for teaching is what led me to enroll in Bryant and Stratton College with a major in Early Childhood Education. I obtained a certificate to be a teacher's assistant and then I decided to attend another two years to get my associates teaching degree.
I continue to polish my teaching skills by teaching the primary class in my local church and assisting in my church's Christian Academy
In my spare time I enjoy doing crafts of all kinds and making materials for my bulletin boards myself.

This course assessment helped me to realize that even though my opinions matter and do shape what I am as an individual teacher, that I must also take into consideration the student, the parents and how everything affects them.
I have to be aware that as a teacher in my community no matter how diverse it may be, I have to make allowances for the diversity. I can have an difference of opinion on many topics . The topics may range from how to teach a certain topic, to how I plan my day with my students, every teacher is different . The diversity is what makes us all unique and allows teaching to be exciting for the teacher and the students.
In the future I know I will use this advice not only in my teaching career, but in my workplace and in my personal life. Diversity is inevitable but it can be profitable and make learning in all areas of life exciting.
The use of technology can be beneficial in the classroom today. This is especially beneficial for the students that learn visually easier than with auditory learning alone. In the classroom if a student can visually see the lesson as well as hear the teacher explaining a concept at the same time this benefits the child even more.
In turn, the use of technology has to be monitored so that it is not abused. If the student is spending an abundance of time with technology, and no interaction with the other students or the teacher he/or she will be not receive the whole scope of available learning, or social interaction.
This assessment has taught me that in my teaching career in the future I have to be able to find the correct balance between teacher teaching and the teaching my students receive from the new technology available. I do believe after this assessment there is a benefit using both.
In the meantime, I would like to be a teacher in my professional career. I think there are children in our school system that lack reinforcement at home in their studies, and help and encouragement. It can be seen worldwide. Our children deserve a quality education and a loving teacher that lets them know they can do this.
