No matter how healthy one is, there is always sickness in health regardless of age. Pharmacists will help to guide you through your sicknesses and ensure you get what you need to be healthy. I was raised by my grandparents and watched them struggle to access their medications. They always tried to translate what their medication was for and when to take it, due to the lack of information given from their healthcare providers. I chose this career to help more people like me, ones who do not speak English. Regardless of where you are from, or what language you speak, everyone must have easy access to the right medications for their well-being. Medication can be dangerous if used incorrectly, and making information accessible to all will decrease risks. I want to open a community pharmacy, offer home services for medication drop-off, and have directions written or explained in the patient’s native language. I feel it is very important to understand a lot of the elderly in New York do not have people to rely on to help with their health, and they sometimes just must figure it out. Being able to help others in a way that will connect the community and keep them healthy is why being a pharmacist is so important to me. As much as it comes from my education, I want my career to come from my heart. As I get through my program, I will gain experience in different pharmacy settings to gain a general understanding on how patient care works. Being able to speak three languages has helped me at my past jobs, and I was able to communicate with a broad range of patients to ensure they were taking their medication properly. Medication is used often after a, and should not have to be a struggle to take.

Basketball/Volleyball
Nassau County All-Conference Award 2024- High School Varsity Basketball
Nassau County All-County Award 2024- High school Varsity Volleyball
Growing up, I played basketball and volleyball. I have so much love for these sports, and they are the reason I am so disciplined today. Without these sports, I would not have learned time management, become headstrong, and pushing when you are at your weakest. Herricks High School had highly skilled teams, and being able to participate with them was a great experience. Not only did I learn so much and develop new skills, but I also made many new connections which led to my coaching and tutoring jobs. Nassau county awarded me with a county and conference award, which was a huge accomplishment for me.
Morni- Competitive Bhangra (Punjabi Folk Dance)
Punjabi folk dance has kept me connected with my culture since I was 10. Dancing has always been part of my life, and being able to go out and compete is such a great experience. I was once so shy and had no faith in myself, but with years of practice, I have been able to reach a competitive level. This provoked confidence in me, which I hold with me today in my everyday life.
1. Being a pharmacist means being willing to learn and help the community. Keeping yourself contained while dealing with a variety of people daily is a very much-needed skill. But through and through, you will put smiles on people’s faces and help them stay healthy. You are given a big responsibility in people’s lives, and some may rely on you to access their medication.
2. I chose pharmacy because I want to be able to help people who do not understand what they are taking, why they are taking it, and may not speak English. St. John’s University allows me to stay at home with my family, while getting my education and being in a diverse population. Being close to home is what I have always wanted, and the resources provided help tremendously. Some of my strengths include organizational skills, communication skills, staying focused on my tasks, customer service, and time management. Using these strengths will allow me to get my job done calmly and collectively, even if the workload becomes a lot at the same time. I was surprised as to how organized I became because I used to be such a scattered person, but over time, I was able to practice and become better.
