Short Term Goals (<1 year)
- Listen to the “How to Talk to People” podcast at least once a week leading up to the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting (December 3-7th) in order to broaden my network.
- Set at least 10 minutes aside each day to post/comment/contribute meaningfully in LinkedIn with the aim of gaining at least one new connection at each institution I am interested in doing my residency at.
- Connect with a Cedarville School of Pharmacy professor to develop a meaningful connection and to provide realistic feedback on my career path and aid me in merging my passions, talents, and skills.
Intermediate-Term Goals (1-5 years)
- Study NAPLEX questions for at least 1 hour each week in order to prepare for the NAPLEX exam in the summer of 2025, starting with areas of most discomfort.
- Politely ask each of my preceptors during my APPE year to review my CV and give me meaningful feedback in order to best prepare myself for residency applications
- Secure a PGY1 residency at an institution which also offers PGY2 programs in either: solid organ transplant, cardiology/critical care, or oncology
Long-Term Goals (5-10 years)
- Establish a career at an institution where I can bring the most value as a board-certified pharmacy specialist when I graduate from my residency program in a city where I can see myself staying for a prolonged length of time (Austin, TX, Boston, MA, Raleigh, NC)
- Apply to and attend law school with an anticipated start date of 2029-2030 on a part-time basis in order to begin the process of becoming a patent attorney.
- Utilizing my Pharm.D., clinical experience and eventual J.D. establish a career as a patent attorney with the intention of protecting new drug designs and products that serve to improve and save lives.
