As a Criminal Justice student at Bryant & Stratton College, I completed a course in Principles of Psychology where I gained a deeper understanding of how the human mind functions, particularly in high-stress and criminal situations. This course helped me explore how psychological factors influence behavior and decision-making, and I learned how to apply de-escalation techniques to help manage and reduce conflict.
I also completed a course titled Science of Criminal Investigation, where I conducted my own investigation based on a case scenario assigned by my professor. I learned how to properly interview individuals, develop and ask relevant questions, and build a thorough and accurate case report. I gained hands-on experience in sketching crime scenes with attention to detail, documenting evidence, and analyzing information using critical thinking and investigative strategies. This course strengthened my ability to observe, report, and apply proper investigative procedures—skills essential to pursuing a career in criminal justice.
