As a pharmacy student this year I completed my self-awareness co-circulars by attending Luisa’s weekly workshops. In these workshops, I learned better ways to improve myself as a student. I learned how to manage stress, study, and think positively in these meetings. These meetings helped me improve myself as a student and allowed me to change my mindset. I learned about many different techniques such as time management. I also learned the importance of work, school, and life balance. I plan on building on these in my next year of pharmacy school and will take these skills with me throughout my lifetime.
I attended Gerry’s weekly classes as a pharmacy student this year to finish my self-awareness co-circulars. I picked very useful tips at these workshops on how to become a better student. These meetings taught me how to study, deal with stress, and think optimistically. These meetings gave me the chance to modify my perspective and better myself as a student. I gained knowledge of a wide range of strategies, including time management. A balance between work, school, and personal life is equally important, I discovered. I intend to expand on these in my last year of pharmacy school and carry these talents with me for the rest of my life.
As a Pharmacy student tackling school and work, taking time out of daily life to be involved in the community was extremely tough. As a P1 student still trying to figure out my way around this school I realized real-world experience is just as important as the grades you get and the performance outside of school is equally as important as the performance we do in school. For my activity for professionalism, I gave out vaccines to patients from ages 5 and up the Pfizer vaccine at CVS health. This was a great experience since I got more experience giving vaccines to children as I was afraid of doing that.
Any career or profession needs room for development and professionalism. Success and job advancement depend on one's ability to constantly enhance their knowledge, skills, and experience. Therefore, it is essential to perform professionally to establish credibility and trust with coworkers, clients, and other stakeholders.
The process of continuously developing one's abilities in a given field or industry is known as professional growth. It entails actively seeking out new learning opportunities, pushing oneself to take on tough new positions and responsibilities, and consistently enhancing one's performance. Professional development can take many different forms, including going to conferences and workshops, getting further education or certifications, or looking for mentorship or coaching.
On the other side, professionalism entails acting in a way that promotes oneself and one's profession. It entails acting with integrity, respect, and responsibility in all of your dealings. Professionalism is essential in establishing rapport with coworkers, customers, and other stakeholders, which can help build a positive reputation and open doors for career advancement.
A successful and rewarding career is built on a foundation of professionalism and growth. People can create lasting connections, get the respect of others, and succeed in their chosen fields by consistently pursuing professional improvement and acting professionally in all encounters. Also, individuals can stay relevant and competitive in a job market that is continuously changing by looking for possibilities for growth and development, which is crucial for long-term success.
During my first year of Pharmacy School, I stepped out of my comfort zone and ran for the position of secretary. As a secretary, I've got the chance to step into a leadership position and help my class succeed since I serve as the class secretary. Being able to participate in decision-making and influence the course of the class is one of the most important advantages of serving as class secretary. For pharmacy students to excel in their studies and their future employment, they must cultivate the skill of leadership. Leadership skills in pharmacy students make them more able to advocate for the field, push for change, and advance patient safety.
One of the main advantages of developing leadership abilities while a pharmacy student is that it equips them to be strong advocates for the field. A pharmacy student who is a leader can explain the importance of the pharmacy profession to the general public, lawmakers, and healthcare professionals. Promoting the pharmacy profession can enhance patient care and highlight how crucial the pharmacist's function is to the healthcare system. Pharmacy students need to be prepared to adapt and innovate as the healthcare industry continues to change. Leadership abilities like critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity are essential for seeing areas that require change and creating solutions to these problems.
The promotion of patient safety, which is at the core of the pharmacy profession, can also benefit pharmacy students by having strong leadership qualities. Patient safety is a top priority for influential pharmacy directors, and they collaborate with other medical professionals to make sure that patients get the best care possible. Pharmacy students can help improve patient outcomes by putting patient safety first and creating a safety culture in their practice settings.
Finally, as pharmacy students prepare for their future careers, they must learn how to lead. Students that possess strong leadership qualities are better able to promote their profession, affect change, and put patient safety first. Pharmacy students can positively influence the pharmacy profession and the healthcare system as a whole by acquiring excellent leadership abilities.
