Legislative Day opened my eyes to how much policy shapes the everyday reality of pharmacy practice. I’ve always known advocacy mattered, but hearing professionals talk about their experiences made it feel more real and personal. It reminded me that pharmacists aren’t just medication experts. They are also voices for our patients and our profession. I appreciated learning how laws are made, how recent policy changes affect what we can do in practice, and how even students can get involved. It made me reflect on the kind of leader I want to become and how important it is to stay informed. The session helped me see advocacy as a responsibility, not an extra, and it motivated me to think about how I can contribute to positive change in the future.

This workshop reminded me how easy it is to get caught up in studying and forget about myself in the process. I appreciated how the session focused on simple, realistic ways to take care of my mind and body before big exams. I realize that getting enough sleep, eating real meals, and giving myself permission to take breaks without feeling guilty. It made me realize that pushing myself to the point of burnout doesn’t actually help me perform better; if anything, it makes everything harder. Hearing these strategies laid out so clearly helped me reflect on my own habits. I tend to overwork or ignore my limits. This workshop encouraged me to approach exam preparation with more balance.

The Wellness and Motivation workshop was a good reminder that taking care of myself. It’s part of surviving and growing in pharmacy school. I appreciated learning simple strategies to stay motivated, especially on days when school feels overwhelming or I’m running on empty. Hearing these ideas laid out so clearly made me reflect on my own habits and how small changes. I try and I like setting realistic goals, taking intentional breaks, or reconnecting. I can make a big difference in how I show up academically and personally. Overall, the workshop reminded me that wellness isn’t something to squeeze in when I have time; it’s something I need to prioritize if I want to succeed and stay grounded throughout this journey.

I loves these workshops. I wish these sessions were available when I was finishing up my undergrad. The self‑management workshop came at the perfect time for me. Pharmacy school can feel overwhelming, and this session helped me slow down and really look at how I manage my time, energy, and expectations. Learning about strategies like the Pomodoro method made me realize that productivity doesn’t have to mean pushing myself nonstop. It can also mean working in a way that protects my focus and my well‑being. I appreciated how practical the workshop was, especially the reminders to set boundaries, break tasks into smaller steps, and give myself grace when things don’t go perfectly. It made me more aware of my habits and showed me that small changes can make a big difference in how I show up academically and personally. It reminded me that taking care of myself is part of being a successful student and future pharmacist.

I learned how social, cultural, and barriers can impact a patient’s willingness to receive preventive services, and how effective communication can help bridge those gaps. This presentation strengthened my commitment to being an advocate for preventive health and reminded me that pharmacists have a powerful platform to support patients through education, and empathy.

I learned how to present my accomplishments in a way that is both professional and impactful, which will be important for future internship applications, rotations, and career opportunities. The workshop also emphasized the importance of continuous improvement. I updated my CV regularly, tailoring it to different positions, and being intentional about the experiences I pursue. Overall, this session increased my confidence in presenting myself professionally and motivated me to stay proactive in building my career foundation.

Attending the Leadership in Pharmacy session with Dr. Bernie Luu gave me a clearer understanding of what effective leadership looks like in a community pharmacy setting. Hearing her experiences as a pharmacy manager helped me appreciate how leadership is built through communication, accountability, and the ability to support and motivate a team during both routine operations and high‑pressure situations. She emphasized the importance of developing confidence, staying adaptable, and continuously improving clinical and interpersonal skills to better serve patients and colleagues. This session encouraged me to reflect on the kind of leader I want to become and reminded me that leadership is not defined by a title. It begins with everyday actions, professionalism, and the willingness to step up and make a positive impact in the workplace. Dr. Luu also went through a lot of hardships that also was an inspiration to keep pushing through the darkness.

The event at Lorena Pharmacy was a meaningful opportunity to apply my developing clinical skills in a real community setting. By performing blood pressure and blood glucose screenings. I gained confidence in interacting with patients, explaining results, and providing clear education on health safety. Working under the supervision of licensed preceptors helped me strengthen my professionalism and communication, especially when tailoring counseling to each patient’s needs and health. This experience reminded me of the impact pharmacists can have outside the classroom.

I learned how common childhood disabilities are in the United States and how significantly they shape a child’s long‑term development and daily functioning. The statistic that 1 in 6 children lives with some form of disability helped me better understand the scale of the issue and the importance of early prevention and support. I also learned that many disabilities originate during pregnancy, which reinforced why maternal health and childhood vaccination are essential public health priorities. This session helped me connect clinical knowledge with real‑world impact. Pharmacists play a key role in educating families, promoting vaccine confidence, and supporting children with diverse needs throughout their lifespan.
