As a young child, I was always outgoing, wild, and mischievous. As I grew older and matured the only thing that did change was the mischievous side of me. Growing up I was always privileged to be around people who would help the community grow for the better and always aspired to be like that until one day I was finally given the opportunity to do such. I found so much peace and happiness within charity work and being able to give. It felt so good to put a smile on people's faces, alleviate people's pain, and give back to the communities that basically raised me.
As I grew older, the majority of the people I was always surrounded with were way older than me, and I saw them grow to become doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and surgeons. I saw that I was giving back to the community and they were giving back to the world. I started off wanting to be a surgeon, I wanted to do cardio or neuro, but I saw that was so many extra years, and I always wanted to get married young and start a family. It wasn't until my senior year of high school I realized I wanted to do pharmacy. As I applied to colleges I kept my options open but nothing was as appealing to me as pharmacy. As I started receiving my college acceptances, I realized that my family and I were patiently waiting for St. John's to get back to us. When we finally got the acceptance letter we were thrilled and overjoyed. I want to be able to give back to the world and to my community with everything I will come to learn and St. John's University. And most of all I want to make my family proud.
The goals I have for myself during the next 1-5 years are as follows
- Being able to maintain my status as a full-time student, intern, and retail associate.
- Being able to maintain a 3.8 GPA or up.
- To manage my time efficiently
- Being able to understand what is expected of me as a pharmacist
- Becoming a hospital pharmacist intern at Mount Sinai or NYU
The goals I have for myself for the next 5-10 years are as follows
- Graduating from the PharmD program by 2027.
- Being able to have a stable career in hospital pharmacy
- Being able to have a continual impact on my community.
- Opening my own pharmacy by 2037
- Being satisfied with my future self.
The goals I have for myself for the next 15 years are as follows
- To be married and have my own house.
- Being able to teach others the value of a pharmacist.
- Being able to train others in the profession of pharmacy.
- Being able to have multiple pharmacies of my own.

Volunteering:
Throughout my entire high school career I would constantly volunteer in various organizations and clubs, I never really understood the true value and meaning behind the word I was doing. I mainly did it because my parents really like it for me. As quarantine came upon us, I saw many organizations helping out those who are in dire need of help. One of the biggest most impactful organizations I have partaken in was Long Island helpers, we partnered up with multiple charity organizations and went around the five boroughs giving out groceries and meals. We impacted many with our true honest work. We would meet every day in the month of Ramadan, a month when Muslims fast from dawn till dusk, and we would go buy groceries and put the groceries in a box. We put up flyers with our emails and phone numbers and had those who are in need reach out to us. They would then give us their address and we would show up at their houses with boxes for their family and any additional needs, like milk or eggs if needed. This is when I truly saw the impact our volunteering had on the communities, and the volunteering became a thing I truly love since. Being able to help the less fortunate, make them feel seen, and provide them with simple needs made both us and them very happy.
At the beginning of last semester, we were told to answer three questions. Describe in your own words, what is a pharmacist, why did you personally choose pharmacy as your major, and why did you choose to study pharmacy here at St. John's University. As a freshman student in his first semester, I guess you can say I did not know much about what I was talking about, but after the first semester, I realized a change in me. for some reason, I feel like I was more easygoing about my grades and everything in the first semester but as the second semester started I thought to myself if I made it this far if I made it through the first semester, I can finish the next five and a half years. It might not seem much at first, but honestly coming from a private school I felt like I was very unexposed to the world and I was yet to learn so much. I expected college to be a big slap on the face, everyone around me was trying to scare me or convince me it is hard, but as I excel in the pharmacy program at St. Johns University I convince myself that nothing is hard as long as you put your mind to it. Coming back to those three questions we were asked to answer I wouldn't change much about my answers except that there is more to a pharmacist than I thought at the beginning of my freshman year.
My top 5 strengths:
Another assessment given to us was something called strengths finder, where you take a test or quiz and it basically tells you things that you are strong in. My five strengths are analytical, intellection, responsibility, consistency, and deliberative.
I believe that I can very much relate to five strengths through the opportunity I was and am given by volunteering and being a part of various charity organizations, the reason being is that I have dealt with all sorts of people and a lot of different cases leaving me to experiences things and be more understanding and more outgoing and giving to everyone out there. I feel like my strengths would benefit most during patient care, one may have the knowledge but not always be attentive and caring, and having all these attributes come hand in hand with the knowledge itself.
