Since August 2020, I have been working as a Paraprofessional in Special Education with Arlington Public Schools in Arlington, VA. In this role, I assist with daily classroom instruction and management, providing individualized support to students with disabilities and adapting materials to meet their academic and social needs. I also implement behavior management strategies and support the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to track student progress. My work promotes positive behavior, fosters social skills development, and involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the academic and social growth of students. Prior to this, I worked at The Merit School of Arlington from December 2019 to December 2021 as a Montessori Teacher, where I provided one-on-one attention to 20 children, used classroom observations to assess progress, and created a supportive learning environment that encouraged creativity and development. I also supervised field trips and supported interdisciplinary team recommendations. From December 2014 to March 2019, I was a Lead Teacher at Northern Virginia Family Services, where I planned and implemented classroom activities for 24 children, creating a secure environment and supervising both indoor and outdoor activities with positive guidance. In this position, I also maintained records and developed strong relationships with parents, regularly communicating each child's progress and needs.
