I believe that caring for one another is the true purpose of life. My name is Perin Jr Pierre; I was born in Haiti in 1992; I migrated to the U.S. in 2014, and I have been residing in New York. I held several employments, from being a Check Cashier to social service personnel working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities. I was tasked to assist individuals with developmental challenges to learn how to administer their prescribed medications daily. From that point on, I envisioned joining the United States Army as a junior Enlisted (PVT/E-1) for a more significant challenge. After completing the required training in South Carolina, I was assigned to 25th BSB in Fort Wainwright, AK, where I served for three and a half years. Within that time, I was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq for six months. I acquired skills and experiences that enabled me to become a Sergeant in 3 years.
I have always been interested in studying sciences; I enrolled at the University of Alaska and obtained science courses while on active duty. My goal is to become a Pharmacist. As a future National Guard reserve personnel, I plan to return full-time to the U.S. Army, to work as a Pharmacist for the Army, and provide higher medical health care to my comrades and Veterans. As a U.S. Army Sergeant, I witnessed first-hand how my comrades have been in harm's way, and they returned home with the need for medical care due to sustained injuries. I am persuaded that as a Pharmacist, I will be able to continue fulfilling my duties to this country, which I have adopted as mine for six years. Consequently, acquiring a pharmacy degree from a well-known and prestigious institution like St John's University would be an honor to me. As I diligently worked hard in U.S. Army, I also plan to work/study the word to accomplish my educational goal within the time frame at St John's University and graduate with a pharmacy degree. Being a pharmacist is important to me because I will have the skills and abilities to recognize the signs and symptoms of diseases that might cause discomfort to people. Being a pharmacist means being a problem solver, a trusting person, and a therapist. There are continuing demands around the world for the pharmacy services profession attractive.

Four years ago I joined the military for a greater challenge. I started as a private (PVT). I Was sent to South Carolina to complete basic training. After I completed the requirements training; I was assigned to 25th BSB in Fort Wainwright, Alaska where I served for 3 years and a half. Within that, I acquired skills and experiences which enable me to reach the rank of Sergeant. My job consisted of carrying out orders from high-rank Officers, conduct mentorship, training, and coaching junior enlisted.
Community service at Maranatha church ( March 2021 to April 2021).
Queens NY
Service consisted of delivering food to those affected by the pandemic since last year. I considered this an accomplishment because I felt that I made a difference in someone else's life; I gave to my community. There is something powerful about being able to help someone less fortunate than you. Helping others is a blessing; that is why I choose to contribute in any way possible.
All it takes for you to succeed in life are passion and persistence. You will never fail in life as long as you don't quit and keep trying. Be resilient and be confident in yourself. My goal is to become a pharmacist and return full-time to the U.S Army. I intend to provide higher medical health care to my brothers and sisters in the armed forces. Being a Pharmacist is important to me because I will have the skills and the abilities to recognize signs and symptoms of diseases that might cause discomfort to people. That why I choose St john's university, a well-known and prestigious institution that will help me accomplish my goals. I have 5 powerful strengths in my possession that will help me overcome obstacles and be successful in life: Confidence, resilience, over-achiever, ambition, and hard work. With these qualities anything is possible.
I had the opportunity to travel to different places around the world.
- Haiti to the U.S.A. January 2014. this was the best feeling ever.
- The U.S. To Alaska. June 2017. This was for military purposes.
- Alaska To Ireland August 2019. First in Europe.
- Alaska to Kuwait. August 2019. first time in the middle east, and Kuwait is one of the hottest places in the world. the temperature can reach over 125 degrees.
- Kuwait to Irak. November 2019. Irak is one of the most dangerous countries on earth, I would not recommend anyone to go there if you don't have to.
