Since the 10th grade, I've been anticipating the day I could become a pharmacy technician. However, since it required that I graduate high school, I had to wait. Finally, during the summer of 2023 when I graduated I was able to enroll in a pharmacy technician program which required that I participate in 130 hours of in-class learning with quizzes every 2 weeks and 120 hours of internship.
During my internship, I was able to work with a pharmacist and other pharmacy technicians and I was able to improve my interpersonal skills by talking with the staff and patients. This was great because, despite my reserved nature, I could interact with others and complete my work. I was also able to get additional managerial abilities when I simultaneously concentrated on my internship and school work when I started university. Finally, after finishing my program and taking an additional 2 months to study for the certification exam, I was so thrilled to pass! This was an accomplishment because I was eager to explore job alternatives and do something outside of school and church, which opened a new world for me. I was also able to endure through the course and exam, which allowed me to gain new abilities.
2) At first I chose pharmacy because my dad wanted me to and I wanted to be an architect or civil engineer but after researching what Pharmacists do and the pharmacy program in St. Johns I realized that this could work out too.
3) I chose to study pharmacy here at St. Johns because I really liked how the pharmacy program was straightforward and I didn't have to go through undergrad and then apply to another pharmacy school. Also, it was closer to home, so while pursuing my degree I can be in an environment that is comfortable for me.
2) Restorative- If there is a problem, or if I am struggling, then I would like to solve/ restore it.
3)Harmony- I believe that this could mean that even though we all have different opinions, make different decisions, and are in different walks of life, these differences can be used to come together and do something good.
4)Futuristic- I like to think about how the decisions I make today can help me form the future that I want. I spend a lot of time thinking about the future and the goals needed to make that future happen.
5)Developer- I become encouraged when I see the growth in others and how they can take what they have and increase their potential.
In this list of strengths, one thing I was surprised about was that for some of the strengths, I can see how they can be easily applied to me. For the others, although I was surprised to have them, after some thinking and self- analyzation I can see how I got them. Now knowing that these are my top 5 strengths, I can apply them into my academic and social life. Through this, I could potentially know in which situations I could thrive and how to handle situations in which I struggle.
