Write Reflection Here:: One of the main career goals I set for myself was to be able to help others and make a difference in other people's lives. In the community setting, I was reaffirmed of my goals as I experienced first hand just how important pharmacists are in the health care of the public. Several encounters with patient counseling showed me the importance of understanding all of the prescription and over the counter medications. Pharmacists are viewed as the drug experts and many people throughout my IPPE rotation would ask certain questions about medications that would have to be answered by the pharmacist. Another experience that reaffirmed my career goal was contacting prescribers about certain patients. Some medications may not be advised for certain patients so the pharmacist would call the prescriber to go over alternatives. Pharmacists have the patient's safety as their number one priority. This IPPE rotation helped me experience first hand the importance of the pharmacists in helping the general public in maintaining their good health.

Write Reflection Here:: There was an incident in which a patient's medications were getting rejected by their insurance. They could not afford the medication without the insurance so we attempted to figure out the issue. The insurance would not cover the medication after multiple attempts. After some attempts at fixing the problem, the medication was discounted using a discount card. This allowed the patient to afford the medication. The patient was very appreciative, and this was a positive experience that showed me how important it is to help these patients with their medications. I feel this way because some people may encounter issues which may cause problems for them in getting the most out of their medications. In the future i plan to take this experience with me and help others whenever I can in order to ensure they get the most out of their medications. I look forward to more experience in the community setting to help me solve certain issues if I encounter them in the future.

Write Reflection Here:: My career goals were reaffirmed over the last few weeks during my IPPE institutional experience. One of my major career goals was helping others professionally as a pharmacist. During my IPPE there have been many instances where I have had to help others as a pharmacist intern. Delivering medications has been one of my major responsibilities at the hospital. Delivering these medications to the nurses is necessary in order to help the patients with their indications. Another responsibility has been refilling all of a patient's medications on their profiles. This ensures each patient gets the necessary medication, and that they have enough of the medication for the rest of the week. Helping ensure these patients get the medications that they need, reaffirms my goals of helping others professionally as a pharmacist. Another one of my goals was to get experience in a hospital setting. This IPPE experience allowed me to understand the pharmacy dynamics in a hospital, and it sparked my interest in looking for future hospital rotations during my APPE's. This was a great experience, andI look forward to more experience in different settings moving forward.

Write Reflection Here:: There was a team meeting on Friday, September 16. This team meeting went over many different patients and the different treatment plans, as well as the treatment outcomes for each patient. During this event I was very engaged in listening to the prescribers, and the nurses discuss each individual patient case. They discussed what the patients has been experiencing, the actions of the patients, and the effect of different medications that the patients were prescribed. This was a very positive and beneficial experience as I got to witness collaboration among the different health care professionals. These health care professionals worked together in order to provide the best patient care for each individual patient. I plan on taking what I learned from this experience and using it in other settings where I will need to collaborate with other health care professionals to treat a patient. Collaboration plays a very important role in treating a patient, and this event helped me experience this collaboration.
