Allan Yearis obtained an Bachelors of Arts at Rutgers University New Brunswick located in New Jersey under the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences pursuing Biological Sciences. During his four years at Rutgers, Yearis based his undergrad research in classifying cyanobacteria blooms native to Middlesex county along with the cyanotoxins produced. Along with his undergrad studies, he partaked various other research tasks such as researching the effects of salinity intrusion on denitifying bacteria on the Rahway River along with researching various microorganisms found the in Pinelands of New Jersey. Other than his work with mircoorganisms, Yearis also tested the water quality of the surrounding bodies of waters near New Brunswick, NJ yearly.
Starting 2021, Allan Yearis started working at Harnett Health hospitals, located in Dunn, NC. His current roles are omnicell suppliers where he stocks various medications to omnicell devices located throughout the hospital as well as prepping IVs for specific use.
Allan Yearis worked as a pharmacy technician at a local Shoprite Pharmacy in his hometown Mullica Hill, NJ during his undergrad studies at Rutgers University. From his job, Yearis' roles were mainly to fill prescriptions and bill insurance under the watch of the pharmacist. When the pandemic hit, his roles expanded to include paperwork such as creating new patient profiles under Enterprise, the system the pharmacy used, along with preping vaccines. Yearis quit his job mid summer 2021 where he moved states from New Jersey to North Carolina.
My professional goal is to excell as a hospital pharmacy technican and to quickly go through training to be less of a burden to the hospital.
My main personal goal is to graduate pharmacy school without sacrificing my mental and physical wellbeing like my undergraduate experience.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Allan immigrated to the United States in his early years and received citizenship after high school. In his years in Clearview Regional High School, Allan volunteered as a Guest Services representative for Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, NJ in his four years. He also volunteered as a Juvenile Court Panel Representative during his freshman to senior years of high school.
After high school, Allan enrolled at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, pursuing a bachelor's in Biological Sciences. During his 4 years, Allan worked as in the popular Red Bank Pizzaria in the Douglas Student center. It was this time period, where Allan applied for a Pharmacy Technician registration in the State of New Jersey.
Working as a Pharmacy Technician at a Shoprite Pharmacy, Allan worked through the pandemic at a community pharmacy, dispensing many medications along with helping give out Moderna and Janssen Covid vaccines.
During his final year of undergrad, Allan also based his undergrad research paper on cyanotoxins and the classification of common cyanobacteria in the state of NJ.
In 2021, Allan moved to Clayton, NC and is currently a full-time student pursing a Pharm.D in Campbell University.
