My Bio: Lora O'Hare
About me

I am a mother of two grown boys who are the center of my life, I am married to my best friend, we have a one and a half year old hound/collie mix that is keeping us busy and on our toes. I enjoy dancing, swimming, reading and just relaxing.

I have over ten years of retail experience and over twenty-five years of certified nursing care experience. I am currently in the Human Services field where I assist and advocate for individuals with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities in obtaining and maintaining employment, I work with them to use their interpersonal and soft skills to search for, apply and interview for potential employment.

I have been involved in assisting the individuals within the agency and the community to work through mock interviews, create resume’s, job search, fill out applications, and sit in on the interviews to assist with questions they need assistance with comprehending. Once an individual is hired I continue the support through training and into their career with Job coaching and advocating for them 100% for any scheduling, reasonable accommodations and assistance that they may need. Daily I have coached up to ten people in their employment and assisted them towards being a successful contributing member of their community following all OPWDD state and government regulations and guidelines, documenting their progress and communicating with other members of their support team such as; Medicaid Service Coordinators, social workers, behaviorist, nurses, and residential managers through semiannual and annual life plan meetings. I have successfully assisted 13 people in gaining and maintaining that employment for more than a year.

My goal is to work in the human services field, assisting and meeting the needs of people, focusing on the prevention and remediation of problems with the commitment to improve the quality of life by reaching their goals to be happier healthier individuals and contributing members of their community.
