Bryant & Stratton College - Applied Science in Medical Assisting 2024

From the very beginning, I was drawn to the field of healthcare. The idea of making a difference in people's lives and being a part of their journey to better health always fascinated me. When I discovered the Medical Assisting program at Bryant & Stratton, I knew it was the perfect fit for me.

Throughout my time at the college, I was fortunate enough to learn from some amazing professors who not only had extensive knowledge and experience in the field but also knew how to make the learning process enjoyable. They created a relaxed and supportive environment that allowed us students to thrive and grow.

The curriculum was well-rounded, covering a wide range of topics such as anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, clinical procedures, administrative tasks and Career Development. We had hands-on training in labs and clinical settings, which gave us valuable practical experience. It was amazing to see how the classroom knowledge seamlessly translated into real-world scenarios.

One of the highlights of my time at Bryant & Stratton was the opportunity to participate in internships. This allowed me to work side by side with experienced medical professionals, putting my skills to the test in a real medical setting. It was a fantastic chance to apply what I had learned and gain confidence in my abilities.

The support I received from the college was exceptional. The career services department provided guidance and resources to help me with job placement. They offered resume workshops, mock interviews, and networking events, which greatly helped in preparing me for the job market.

I am proud to be a part of the Bryant & Stratton College family and grateful for the incredible education I received. It's been quite the journey, but an incredibly rewarding one, and I can't wait to see where my career in the medical field takes me next.

Poster Project on Alzheimer's Disease
While working on my project, there were a couple resources that I used. I utilized online databases like Bryant and Stratton college virtual library, PubMed, Google Scholar and the National Institute on Aging’s Alzheimer’s Disease Education and referral Center (ADEAR) database to search for relevant research papers clinical trials, and scholarly articles. Even though I did not use most of these platforms for my project, they offered a wealth of information with the latest advancements in Alzheimer’s research. This research would benefit me in the future as a medical assistant in the workplace. By staying well-informed about Alzheimer’s disease, I can enhance patient care. Understanding the latest research on Alzheimer’s disease enables me to provide informed and compassionate care to patients with this condition. I can better comprehend the disease progression, its impact on cognitive and physical functions, and tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each patient. Moreover, armed with up-to-date knowledge, I can educate and support families and caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients. Sharing relevant research findings and evident-based information can help them make informed decisions about treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and available resources. 231023070752_IMG_3293.jpg (.jpg) 1.77mb
