Renee L. Felt
Bryant & Stratton College

After many years performing jobs that required much more physical endurance than mental ability, I realized that a change was overdue. I always had a knack for numbers and words but, unfortunately, I had not attended college after graduating from high school with New York state regent’s diploma with majors in Mathematics and Business. Instead, I went directly into the workforce. Through the years I changed jobs a few times; However, my most recent positions brought two things to my attention. The first was the fact that my body was no longer suited for physically demanding jobs. The second was that I still had a strong desire to use my mental skills and natural abilities in a career that would be beneficial to myself and my employer.
For these reasons, I finally decided to attend college to receive a degree that would allow me to fulfill this desire. I started at Bryant & Stratton college with the intent on receiving a diploma as an accounting assistant. Although I have achieved that goal, I felt that I should push on as I was quite sure that I was capable of much more. Shortly, I will be graduating with an associate degree in business administration. I am confident that the combination of my previous skills, acquired work-related knowledge, accounting assistant diploma and an associate degree will open many doors for me where I will be able to excel in my position and become a great contribution to my future employer.
