My Biography

I have been a lifelong advocate for learning and personal growth.  I have spent my life in the pursuit of knowledge and self-awreness; with the hope of using all of that for the benefit of others and to enrich my own life.

I am passionate about implementing my extensive experience and philosophy in employee development, employee relations, and creating positive work environments in a human resources capacity. I am committed to excellence within leadership and creating impact in professional and personal lives. I am prepared to uphold organizational standards, empower others and add value to my employer. Plant Manager of Two Facilities | 2017 to Present

  • Ensure and manage two facilities have met the regulatory permit requirements and are in compliance with state and federal government regulations.
  • Responsible for creating a conducive work environment and psychological safety of 65 staff members; by ensuring my staff receives the training, development, support, classes, and materials needed to meet those expectations.
  • Regularly conduct one-on-one conversations with every employee to receive input on what they need to be successful, and feedback to see if I am meeting expectations as a manager and leader.

 

HR Assistant to HRSD Talent Management Office | 2015 to Present

  • Chosen by the General Manager to lead internal HR investigations.
  • Assisted with conflict resolution, recruitment, training, and interviews of employees.
  • Partnered with various high schools to discuss our Summer Intern recruitment opportunities, and Job Fairs.
  • Attended national seminars to present as an HR representative.

 

Plant Superintendent | 2013 to 2017

  • Ensured that maintenance had the tools and equipment to maintain the mechanical assets of the facility, and the Operations department had the chemicals and instrumentation to meet permit requirements.
  • Responsible for creating the facility budget and meeting the monetary expectations of the organization.
  • Developed and trained staff, preparing them to advance to the next opportunity within the company.
  • Regularly spoke with every staff member and scheduled appointments as needed to; even if I had to make appointments, to talk to every single staff member.

 

Operations Lead Operator | 2000 to 2008

  • Responsible for all operational aspects with an emphasis on operator training and development.
  • Prepared operators to pass their state tests and complete the required four-year Apprenticeship program.
  • Aided in employee preparation and growth to be successful in the Lead Operator position by establishing interpersonal relationships and trust. 

 

Plant Operator | 1988 to 2000

  • Responsible for monitoring and testing the water treatment processes.
  • Monitored chemicals, equipment, and implemented adjustments to meet regulatory permit requirements.

 

Plant Operator’s Assistant | 1987 to 1988

  • Provided support to the Plant Operator to ensure completion of duties in times of upsets, spills, and emergencies.
  • Took initiative and addressed tasks that did not require a licensed operator to perform.

Travel (My Travel Experience)

Prior to COVID, travel was one of favorite hobbies. Both nationally and internationally. From VA to CA, from Texas to Montreal. Dubai, Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, Jamaica, Puerto Rico. Las Vegas, Crater Lake and lots of other places. I was scheduled to go to Turks and Caicos just before COVID derailed it.
