Level Ten Reflection – My Final Chapter in Pharmacy School

As I reach the end of my journey in the College of Pharmacy, I find myself filled with gratitude, pride, and a quiet kind of disbelief. Level Ten wasn’t just a set of courses—it was a closing chapter, a mirror reflecting how far I've come. Each subject in this level deepened my thinking and brought me closer to the pharmacist I’m becoming.

In PHRM 441: Patient Safety, I learned the value of systems thinking, open communication, and how a culture of safety can truly save lives. The “Horror Room” activity especially reminded me how critical our role is in avoiding harm before it happens.

PHRM 442: Pharmacy Management gave me a broader vision. It introduced me to the real-world challenges of leadership, budgeting, and health informatics. I started to see myself not just as a clinician, but as a potential manager or innovator in pharmacy services.

Through PHRM 443: Marketing in Pharmacy, I appreciated the power of communication and strategy. It wasn’t just about selling—it was about understanding patients, regulations, pricing, and the value of ethical marketing in healthcare.

PHRM 444: PDAT 10 – Oncology Module was intense but incredibly eye-opening. Understanding cancer therapies and patient-specific care taught me the importance of evidence-based treatment and empathy during some of the hardest moments patients face.

Finally, PHRM 445: Simulation Lab allowed me to put it all into practice. From counseling to lab interpretation and case discussions—it tied everything together and made me realize how far I’ve grown in confidence, professionalism, and skill.

Level Ten wasn’t easy, but it was fulfilling. It taught me that pharmacy is not just knowledge, it’s action—and intention. As I prepare to step into the world beyond college, I carry with me not just facts and skills, but purpose.

REFLECTION of Level 7 2023

Level Seven Reflection:

Level Seven has been an extraordinary journey that has expanded my horizons and deepened my understanding of various subjects. One of the most captivating courses during this level was PHRM 412: Applied Pharmacokinetics. This course delved into the practical application of pharmacokinetic principles in the field of pharmacy. Through assignments and group discussions, I gained hands-on experience in analyzing and interpreting drug concentration data, calculating pharmacokinetic parameters, and optimizing drug dosing regimens. This course equipped me with the skills necessary to make informed decisions regarding drug therapy and personalized patient care.

Another enlightening course was PHRM 413: Social and Behavioral Pharmacy. Through article discussions, I explored the intersection of social and behavioral factors with pharmacy practice. This course provided valuable insights into patient adherence, health behaviors, and the impact of psychosocial factors on medication outcomes. It emphasized the importance of patient-centered care and effective communication in promoting positive health outcomes. By critically analyzing research articles and engaging in thought-provoking discussions, I developed a deeper appreciation for the social and behavioral aspects of pharmacy practice.

In PHRM 325: Pathophysiology, Drug Action, and Therapeutics (4), I had the opportunity to create a brochure and reflect on the risks associated with drugs of abuse for the public. This project allowed me to apply my knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology to educate the community about the potential dangers of substance abuse. Through this assignment, I honed my communication skills and learned how to effectively convey complex medical information in a concise and accessible manner. It was a rewarding experience to contribute to public health awareness and promote responsible medication use.

PHRM 415: Pathophysiology, Drug Action, and Therapeutics (5) provided an in-depth exploration of new antibiotics, focusing on their pharmacology, spectrum, and outcomes. This course exposed me to the latest advancements in antibiotic therapy and the challenges associated with antimicrobial resistance. Through comprehensive analysis and critical evaluation, I gained a deeper understanding of the pharmacological properties of these drugs and their clinical implications. This course reinforced the importance of evidence-based decision-making and staying abreast of emerging trends in pharmacy practice.

Lastly, in PHRM 417: Pharmacy Simulation Lab (3), I had the opportunity to learn and apply the SBAR (Situation-Background-Assessment-Recommendation) technique. This technique is instrumental in effective interprofessional communication and collaboration, particularly in high-stakes situations. Additionally, I acquired skills in interpreting diagnostic and laboratory testing in infectious diseases. This hands-on experience provided me with valuable insights into the practical aspects of pharmacy practice, enhancing my ability to deliver optimal patient care.

Overall, Level Seven has been a transformative phase in my academic journey. The diverse range of subjects and experiences has broadened my knowledge, strengthened my skills, and deepened my passion for pharmacy. I am eager to apply the valuable insights gained during this level in my future studies and professional career. As I embark on the next chapter of my educational journey, I am confident that the foundation laid during Level Seven will serve as a solid platform for my growth and success in the field of pharmacy.

REFLECTION LVL 9
In conclusion, my second academic year at the College of Pharmacy has been a year of growth and learning. I was able to develop my academic skills and make new friendships through various workshops and classes. In particular, I learned a good way to study and raise my academic average in the course of therapeutics. I gained an in-depth understanding of various diseases, including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and pain, and learned how to diagnose and treat these diseases. Additionally, I learned about the chemistry of each disease, which provided me with a more comprehensive understanding of the cause and treatment of these illnesses. The subject of epidemiology was particularly interesting, as I gained knowledge about how to evaluate scientific research and the different types of research and scientific studies. The experience gained from the pharmacy training course was invaluable, as I had the opportunity to interact with people in a community pharmacy and learned to deal with them despite their different personalities and ages. The pharmacy simulation lab provided me with hands-on experience in preparing intravenous medicines and converting medicines from their medicinal form to suit needy patients. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience that has broadened my knowledge and skills, and I am looking forward to applying what I have learned in my future studies and career in pharmacy.

REFLECTION of lvl 7
At this level, I learned a lot, starting with the immunology course. I learned about and how its done transfer organs, causes of cancer and genetic diseases, as well as those that have a specific reason, such as the way of living (life style ) and so on.  I also learned in the pharmacy training course a lot, such as dealing with patients with blood pressure and heart failure, how to treat them and their causes. I also learned how to take vital signs, prescribe the prescription for the patient and ensure his safety.  I also learned in PDAT (Pathophysiology, Drug Action, and Therapeutics), heart medications, triglycerides, and vasodilators.  In the course of pharmaceutical analysis, I learned the types of devices used in the analysis, such as mass spectrometry, HPLC , gas chromatography, capillary electrophoresis  , and the advantages and disadvantages of each of them, and how and where to use it,,, a new experience for us, three semester  per year, which has its advantages such as a little of subject  in the semester and the ease of the study schedule, but it was negative that the time is not  It is enough to receive the information,, I hope this idea will continue, but it needs to take into account some heavy subjects that need to be divided to make it easier to receive and understand,,, Also, the pharmaceutical training material needs to take into account the situation of the student because its requirements are too many in a short time and the evaluation is not clear .  thank you that is all

Ethnomedicinal Otostegia fruticosa (Forssk.) as a Source of Antimicrobial Coumarins and Flavonols against Multidrug-Resistant Bacteria and Candida Yeasts
This study explored whether Otostegia fruticosa contains compounds that can fight drug-resistant bacteria and fungi. The plant was extracted, its chemical components were isolated, and they were tested against pathogens such as Acinetobacter baumannii and Candida auris. The dichloromethane fraction showed the strongest antimicrobial activity, and compounds like psoralen and galetin were the most effective, with notable activity against resistant fungal strains. I contributed to this work, and the manuscript is currently under submission for publication in a scientific journal. 250417122452_Researcher_form.pdf (.pdf) 0.15mb
