Worldview Essay

Worldview Essay

There is no question that today’s worldviews are shifting almost daily because of all the different and unusual happens in the world. Man has forgotten the purpose of why we were created. And because of that, right has become wrong and wrong has become right, which makes it hard for what is truth and what is not. And therefore, man is not concerned about actions, reactions, or consequences. And unfortunately, that effects our school systems as well. This is why people are conforming to a secular worldview and forced to believe what they see now verses what they know, or for the elders in the world today, what they have known for most of their lives.

For our schools, pray has been taken out and trouble has taken its place. But the sad thing is that, not many people do not even care to even know what the real truth is, especially when it comes to God. The more I see it in our schools, the more I become concerned about our children’s fairness, and their discipline. I believe that the worldview of our young parents is definitely affecting our children in many ways.

During my internships this far, I feel that I am mentally and professionally prepared to assist our students by advocating for them as well as assisting their educationally and professionally needs. I am a believer and therefore, my desire is to help shape hearts, and minds and to encourage students to know the truth and to have a different worldview.

Professional Growth (Reflective) Essay

Initially, I had second thoughts about school counseling as a career choice. However, for as long as I can remember, my desire has always been to be effective and to be a blessing no matter my environment rather working with students or simply working in a bank. But as I continue my transition through this counseling program, I have felt more and more encouraged and sure that I have chosen the right profession because it has given me so much joy.

Throughout this program, being around the students and learning more about their needs, desires, hopes, hurts, as well as their personal, educational, psychological needs and concerns has given me hope that I can be a great asset to our school system. The site supervisors have been a blessing and have give me great tools to use, not only in the school system but in my everyday life.

I have developed better and move effective skills in the areas of communication, classroom guidance lessons, individual counseling, as well as advocacy. I have become a dynamic listener, and I owe that to the time that I have been provided through my internships with my site supervisors. The journey had been great, and I look forward to learning more in this program in order to be an effective school counselor.
