My name is Dequetter Hayes, and I am currently pursuing my education in early childhood education. I am passionate about working with young children and supporting their growth, development, and learning. As a paraprofessional, I have gained hands-on experience working in the classroom, where I assist with daily activities, support student learning, and help create a positive and nurturing environment.

Through my education and experience, I have developed skills in communication, classroom management, and understanding child development. I am especially interested in helping children build confidence and reach their full potential.

My long-term goal is to become a kindergarten teacher and eventually move into a leadership role, such as an assistant director or director. I am committed to continuing my education and growing professionally so I can make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.

I am currently going to Bryant & Stratton College, working toward my degree in Early Childhood Education. While being in school, I am learning more about child development, how to observe and assess children, and different ways to support their learning.

My education has helped me grow in my role as a paraprofessional, where I get to use what I’m learning in a real classroom setting. I am continuing to build my skills in communication, classroom management, and understanding how children learn and develop.

My goal is to keep growing in my education and career so I can become a kindergarten teacher, and later on move into a leadership role like an assistant director or director.

Throughout my program, I have worked on different projects that focus on observing and supporting children’s development. One of my main projects included observing a child during play, using a checklist to document their skills, and reflecting on their strengths and areas where they may need more support.

I have also worked on assignments that helped me understand how to use both informal and formal assessments to guide learning and make decisions in the classroom. These projects have helped me learn how to look at each child as an individual and plan activities that support their growth.

These experiences have helped me build confidence in my ability to observe, assess, and support young children in a positive and effective way.

My personal and professional goals are very important to me. Personally, I want to continue growing, staying focused, and setting a good example for my children. They are my biggest motivation, and they push me to keep going even when things get hard.

Professionally, my goal is to become a kindergarten teacher. I enjoy working with young children and helping them learn and grow. I also want to continue building my skills and experience in the classroom so I can be the best teacher I can be.

In the future, I would like to move into a leadership role, such as an assistant director or director. I want to be able to support not only children, but also other teachers and families. I am committed to continuing my education and working hard to reach these goals.
