For my personal goals, i set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals. 5 years a go i set a goal to become debt free, buy a car that i have been wanting and buy a house. I have accomplishes all but the house. This year i started the process and was stopped do the the pandemic and the government closing temparily as i was applying for the Chaffa loan and we had to move out of the place I was renting do to the owners selling the house. We were not able to close on the house we wanted and had to move into an apt. I have started the process again in building from the ground up so that it will be ready next year. I have started a youtube channel and set monthly goals on gaining subscibers. I try to push myself so my daughter can see that hard work and dedication pays off. I hope that one day my aunt opens up her own practice and that i can be a paralegal for her. I am thinking of also getting my degree in human resources as I feel that it will benifit me in the long run as a paralegal. I have ot decided on what area that i want to be in but I am leaning towards eith domestic law or contract law.
My name is Kylia Thomas. I am a single mom. I went on to get my degree in Political science and minor in Criminology at Metro State College in Denver. I went on to get me Business Admin degree from the community College of Denver. I then decided to pursue my Paralegal degree with Everest. It did take a bit longer than i expected with this degree. I currently work at Bright Horizons Family Solutions where i am a resource coordinator. With the help of my mentor here, i was able to get in contact and speak with the second in command for the legal department on a project on expanding the legal department to out local Broomfield office and what that department would handle. I have to show that there is a need and present it by the next budget meeting for the year. I am excited for this project as i would be able to transition into a paralegaal role.
This is the cover letter i plan on using when applying for paralegal positons.
