Thirty-five years ago, I set out with an idea. No big aspirations in life, but I always achieved. Today I can say I am well accomplished, not only literally but also in the figurative sense of things. I am happy, I am successful and I am a believer. While many think that success happens over time, I am a firm believer that you have to work hard to achieve anything worthwhile. With the right mindset, half the battle is won before you would have begun.
Miss Gayle is an aspiring Pharmacist, while the journey is nothing shy of rewarding, the path to get there will indeed be a triumphant sing. Many years ago, I set out with a dream and an idea, today I am the epitome of the younger me and how I envisioned myself to become in life. While many people fall short of patting themselves on the back, I can say being a servant leader was the main reason for success in health care environs. Being patient centered is what make the customers who are our patients and future shareholders of our business drive prosperity.
When I envision a pharmacist, they are different than any other medical profession. While most strive on routine tasks, a pharmacist is grand in the way how they pay close attention to details. They are the force that drive accuracy in the field and should not be left out. Becoming a scientist is one pathway of success that a pharmacist can achieve easily if one studies the natural sciences. While the natural science is nothing new, it has come a long way to be recognized in the field as a force to reckon with. As in interdisciplinary field of medicine, it should not be ignored. Having a strong foundation is what will make you stand out from the others climbing the ladder of success. Competition is a main fact of evolution as belonging to the mammalian group in the Animal Kingdom; we are all fighting for our place of survival.
Many believe the principles of Natural Medicine also is an evolving field. Remedies rooted in apothecary, have been since the dawn of civilization and is one of the oldest forms of medicine that is accepted and proven real. With quantum physics, studying the natural world around us, narrowing our field to pharmacy is what makes us a specialist. Becoming an expert in the field should be deserving of praise as this is what distinguishes us from the norm. Having a clear understand of both survival and competition in the animal kingdom is what gives birth to knowledge and a deeper understanding of systems around us.
One of the greatest naturalists of all time was Charles Darwin whose study of evolution and natural selection gives rise to our understanding and acceptance of the way things are in nature. One cannot understand human behavior without the philosophy and study of the human mind and thus natural sciences cannot be studied without the framework of time. Both social intrinsic properties such as our own behavior and social nature are what makes us grow, while our biological systems model our general wellbeing around the building blocks of vital nutrients. Most of which we get from our natural resources. Without respiration we would have been a non-living matter which strikes another set of spiritual debates all rooted in ancient principles.
Some of the applications of Natural Sciences involve the use of Artificial Intelligence in the form of Natural Language Processing and recognition. Natural languages give rise to computer models that enable better transmission of data and world-wide connectivity which bridges all generation gap. In fact, there is something for everyone! One might assume that everything to do with natural languages, such as user-friendly interfaces are ideal for advanced learners. However, many AI tools are now beginner friendly and has migrated from the notion of robotics to be more signaling of input and generates with accuracy.
Nonetheless, areas of concerns for the sciences have been a life-long debate of innate characteristics versus learned behavior. Many argue that some scientific disciplines don’t teach the humanities enough and have adjusted to taking the statistical approach. Despite challenges, one cannot deny the fact that advances in technology have led to improvement in social wellbeing. Increasing more social media awareness and more influence in different disciplines has led to its success in all environments.
I always wondered about the world wide web and if it’s a tool that bridges the generation gap and increases connectivity. In fact, the thing that puzzles me the most is what is the story behind this idea of interconnectivity. My first guess was for mankind.
As a child, the fact that I had a desktop computer was very surprising to my peers. The story behind this was that both my parents grew up rural, and for this reason never seemed to have the technology to communicate quickly enough. I remembered as an infant one of the first questions I asked myself was how I preserve the memories I once cherished as a child. My first reasoning was a scrap book. Everyone had one of those, but it never seemed to last more than a day especially during a storm, the papers never seemed to hold up.
Secondly, what about sending a message in a bottle. That has been the best method since the dawn of civilization that always seemed to flourish. The mail man while the preferred method of sending post, takes a long time. However, due to recent times messages are instantaneous now. In fact, I can argue it is faster than the speed of light. The time it takes a central processing unit or CPU to process information, you could have already sent it directly in the form of an email. All encoded and translated in many languages and then decoded by a server. This was the turning point in my life.
Now, I speak boldly! My past doesn’t define me; my future has already begun and thus it will shape the way I communicate with my peers and older generations to come. When you start well, you end well. No amount of information changes what was already said and done and thus being mindful in the way we communicate is very important. Transcription and turning emotions into text is now very appealing but it is informal.
When we communicate with the use of imagery, we convey a message to the reader that is more direct and succinct. My story is unfolding as we speak, but it will be a positive ending for me and not end on a sad note like a Ballard.
Moreover, coming from liberal arts perspective, culture and dance is always the central theme. It makes us feel happy when we read a poem about our nation, and makes us laugh when a comedy is better said than done. Euphemism is an understatement that is nice and subtle. I like the use of euphemism than a hyperbole at times because it makes us think about the rationale behind the story.
In Conclusion, I hope the reader grasp the sense that education has been a pivotal step in my career and achievements. I was once a child, but as a young adult I realize it has shaped me into the person I am today because of my diligence. I hope my story will inspire others to dream big! Studying trends offer predictability. If one can understand the phenomenon behind a practice and how things work, one can develop and spot new behaviors that can lead to innovation. The Natural Sciences can be modelled from pluralism as having shared different ideas and believes that become one branch of study.

I have spent the last ten years honing my supply chain management, customer service, and problem-solving skills in the retail pharmacy industry and I am confident in my ability to contribute effectively to your team.
In my current role as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, I have
honed my skills in prescription processing, inventory
management, and HIPAA compliance. I have also developed
strong communication and team leadership abilities while
ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards.
During my tenure at Forever 21 as a Stock Lead, I demonstrated
my proficiency in stockroom organization, inventory
replenishment, and vendor relations. I successfully coordinated
with team members to prioritize tasks and maintain optimal stock
levels, contributing to the overall efficiency of the store.
As a Shift Lead Manager at Walgreens, I managed a team of
employees to ensure smooth store operations and provided
excellent customer service. I also oversaw inventory
management, cash handling procedures, and enforced store
policies to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Having earned my Masters in Health Administration I am looking
for new opportunities to learn, evolve and expand my career as a
Health Administrator and Certified Pharmacy Technician.
I believe this position aligns well with my experience and competencies
and I am excited for the opportunity to learn from your team.
From a Liberal Arts perspective, Natural Sciences would not be said to have a profound philosophical approach. However, from the eyes of a scholar, cultural artifacts bring light to what would be a rather negligible task a more tangible event. From my perspective I love to engage in studying culture and its dynamic nature.
At St. John's University, it is more than just an institution, it is the way of life of the students. We come in all shades, and our heritage is what makes us unique. Without our identity we would not exist in a cohesive manner, giving rise to one whole of the giant puzzle. This teaches us to respect all types of life and our surroundings. I have always been an overachiever. I am that student with many academic awards in science since elementary school, leading up to high school and into my tertiary education.
My passion in life was to one day hold a Doctorate in a scientific discipline. My first job was in retail pharmacy, which fueled my drive to understand more about the healthcare industry. I belong to a family that prioritize education and for myself holding three degrees in Natural Sciences, Management and Health Administration. I first discovered a love for the scientific discipline when I would watch the Discovery Channel and National Geographic and would ask myself questions as to where my place in science was?
After completing the Caribbean Examination Council, I received awards ranging from trophies for the most outstanding student in Biology and Chemistry, an Advanced Diploma and an award in the Natural Sciences. This was a mundane accomplishment for me as it showed me that my passion for the scientific world was a true reality and that I can have a career in this field.
My love for the healthcare industry translates into my first love which was in the natural sciences program. I was curious about research and how this would help me to learn and study the scientific discipline. One of my favorite topics in science was studying about plants and learning how they can translate into medicinal chemistry. I learned that plants are indeed used to manufacture medicines and thus my love for chemistry grew. Studying a scientific discipline such as natural sciences helped me to put all the pieces together in chemistry and thus my passion for research.
The Pharm-D program will be a life-long dream of mines as anything I put my mind to; I work hard to accomplish. This degree will add a lot of enrichment, happiness and joy to my life and help me to have a career in something I enjoy doing such as research and pharmacy.

- Describe, in your own words, “What is a pharmacist”?
When I think of a pharmacist, I envision someone who is a scientist at heart. Not only are they compassionate, but they are objective in nature and care about the people they serve. A pharmacist is a servant leader as what most healthcare professional strives to become. They're on the forefront of research and development and also constantly utilizing their knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) in patient care and their daily lives. They are punctual and take good care of themselves by taking a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, are consistently growing and learning new advances in technology and business. Pharmacists have a delicate work-life balance and is someone who should reflect on their day ahead as their tasks can become tedious. Therefore, a pharmacist needs a highly focused and extroversion to a level that makes meaningful interactions with the population and abides by the rules and laws by setting good examples for peers and mentors.
- Why did you personally choose Pharmacy as your major?
I chose Pharmacy as a major because I want to help people. As a child, I was very curious and started reading books above my grade level. I yearn for more knowledge and I believe education is indeed the key to success. While many believe leadership is both innate in characteristics and can be learnt, in my opinion, I want to be a charismatic leader. Someone that possesses a warm and friendly smile that patients know and trust. I hope to set a good example for both my peers, family and patients. I chose pharmacy because it is governed by a lot of rules and laws that protect patient information and also helps health care providers in an event that any thing should occur. Knowing this sort of information will be rewarding as the social institutions put in place are from the start of the apothecary and even though many changes are made to the structure of the profession. The majority remains the same, founded in scientific principles, behaviors and a certain way of doing things which are the norms and values.
- Why did you choose to study pharmacy here at St. John’s University?
Many of our brightest and founding fathers since the dawn of the revolutionary period of mankind or even in the renaissance era have roots in Roman Catholicism. It is the only way to have a wider approach to learning not just facts and figures but a more comprehensive approach. Roman Catholicism since earlier times have always been the authority on education. With that being said, I would not see any school as being fit on this level, juxtaposed to St. John’s University. St. Johns university remains true to its origins and is interdisciplinary. St. John’s University as an institution focuses not only on its image but also on charity and global perspective and outreach which is why I chose to study Pharmacy at St. Johns University. As someone who also has a degree in Natural Sciences, the interdisciplinary aspect of the pharmacy program was very appealing to me.
