Maintain a library of medical summary plan documents (SPD's) daily.
Obtain EOB's and explanation of payments or checks to help in assisting our Recovery department with re-billing issues that they never received payment.
Assist Cigna member's in understanding our role with Cigna and what we do.
Assist multiple departments with eligibility questions, claims payment questions, help with SPD's and obtain updated SPDs from a Cigna internal site.
Handle incoming Emails from the Cigna Legal Department to have new cases be opened, or the document provided is something that we haven't received yet and forward to be handled to the appropriate area.
Assisted in implementation of new clients.
Handle and balance a monthly report prior to our accounting department sending it via wire transfer.
Assist with internal Legal Department requests that are high priority.
Helped with reviewing post-paid claims and their possible relatedness to an accident or injury.
Assisted with our Recovery Department to find out why claims were paid and if they are missing or denied and located them and advised if they were applied to the deductible, denied for additional information, etc.
Have multiple knowledge of different claims payment systems (read-only) in ProClaim, PowerMHS, PowerSTEPP, Facets, and Diamond.
Provided Cigna Account Managers with updates on current cases and when they will be settled or if they have already settled.
Helped with disputes that Cigna did a retraction on claims, however it was due to the repayment of claims that were due to a settlement and to not bill a member.
I got a new job reviewing post-paid claims for accident relatedness for an outsourcing company that I still work for today. I transitioned to the position I'm currently at, client services senior specialist, and we support Cigna Healthcare in subrogation services.
