Throughout this course, my level of career readiness has significantly advanced. I have become more prepared, more educated, and have developed more patience in regards to my career goals. One specific example of how I am more prepared is through the knowledge and skills I have gained in this course. This was the only class that I had to do videos with my performance with recording myself and elaborating on key points while being critiqued. It was nerve wrecking but it pushed me out my comfort zone to speak for 2-5 minutes. I also loved the client feedback in regards to video discussion as a class to see how others measured up as well with the same assignment.I have learned about various career paths, job search strategies, and professional development techniques that have equipped me with the necessary tools to navigate the job market successfully.
Additionally, I have become more educated in my chosen field of interest. For example, I have gained a deeper understanding of the legal profession through the coursework and discussions in this course. This has allowed me to make more informed decisions about my career path and has given me the confidence to pursue my goal of obtaining a paralegal certificate.
Furthermore, I have developed more patience in relation to my career goals. I have learned that building a successful career takes time and effort, and it is important to remain patient and persistent in the face of challenges. This course has taught me the importance of setting realistic goals and taking consistent action towards achieving them. Based off my elevator pitches in resume I need to provide more examples specifically on my growth from when I first started my career to where I am now so I will work on adding that more to my resume and explaining that in my pitch.
Moving forward, I have identified three career goals for the immediate future. Firstly, I plan to pursue my goal of obtaining a paralegal certificate. To achieve this, I will research reputable institutions that offer paralegal programs and compare their curriculum, cost, and reputation. I will then enroll in the program that best aligns with my needs and goals. Additionally, I will network with professionals in the legal field to gain insights and advice on how to succeed as a paralegal.
Secondly, I aspire to own a car dealership. To pursue this goal, I will conduct market research to identify potential locations and target markets. I will also seek out mentorship from successful car dealership owners to learn about the industry and gain valuable insights. Additionally, I will work on developing my business and financial acumen through further education and training.
Lastly, I aim to build a career presence in Atlanta, Georgia. To achieve this, I will attend networking events and professional conferences in the area to connect with professionals and potential employers. I will also research local job opportunities and tailor my resume and cover letter to highlight my skills and experiences that are relevant to the Atlanta job market. Additionally, I will utilize online platforms such as LinkedIn to expand my professional network and showcase my expertise.
In regards to my MyCred professional portfolio, there are still areas that need improvement before it reaches its final form. Firstly, my resume requires more details and descriptions of my experiences and accomplishments. I still need to add 12- participate in social academic , and professional communities for individual growth and function as a citizen of multicultural world. I will work on expanding each section to provide a comprehensive overview of my skills and qualifications. I also need 8- utilize appropriate current technology and resources to locate and evaluate information needed to accomplish a goal, and then communicate findings in visual, written and/or formats. Additionally, my elevator speech needs refinement to effectively communicate my unique value proposition and career goals in a concise and compelling manner.
To continue building my MyCred professional portfolio, I will take the following action steps. Firstly, I will upload more of my projects and assignments to showcase my skills and abilities. This will provide evidence of my program and institutional outcomes, demonstrating my proficiency in the subject matter. Additionally, I will seek feedback from mentors and professionals in my field to ensure that my portfolio accurately represents my capabilities and achievements.
In future job interviews or career opportunities , I will successfully articulate my skills by emphasizing my ability to finish what I start. As an entrepreneur, I have consistently demonstrated my commitment and dedication to my ventures.
