Through studying healthcare information systems, electronic health records, and data management processes, I developed a strong understanding of how technology supports clinical operations, decision-making, and patient safety. The assessments enhanced my ability to analyze system workflows, address data security and privacy concerns, and evaluate the impact of health information technology on quality and efficiency. Legal compliance and risk analysis (portfolio project)This course and the Portfolio Project gave me the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSBs) I needed to do well in healthcare management. By looking at the legal and regulatory stuff that affects healthcare organizations, I got a better grasp of compliance, risk management, and making ethical choices. The assessments made me put laws about patient rights, privacy, employment, and organizational liability into action, which really helped me get better at solving problems and thinking critically. This course also helped me spot possible legal risks and come up with policies to cut them down. These skills are super important for making sure everything runs legally, keeping patients and staff safe, and making smart decisions in the workplace.

By creating an implementation plan for a new outpatient clinic, I honed my leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills. The assessment challenged me to use legal and ethical principles, risk management strategies, and workforce planning on a diverse group of patients and employees. I also learned how to analyze community demographics, build strategic partnerships, and figure out outcome measures to keep an eye on quality, productivity, and patient satisfaction. These skills are exactly what health services administrators do in the real world and are getting me ready to handle complex healthcare organizations with confidence.

The project helped me think more abstractly about diversity and use that understanding in my professional life. This course and the Portfolio Project really helped me build the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSBs) I need to do well at work. By using statistical ideas like data analysis, probability, and understanding results, I got better at thinking with numbers and solving problems. Using Excel to do calculations and make graphs made me more skilled and accurate, and putting my work in a Microsoft Word document helped me explain data-driven ideas clearly. The structured tests and videos made sure I understood how statistics work in real life, so I’m ready to look at information, back up decisions with data, and show results professionally at work.

Writing the persuasive research paper boosted my critical thinking, organization, and professional writing abilities. The presentation part gave me more confidence in speaking and clearly sharing information with others. Overall, the course taught me how to communicate ideas effectively using facts and research, which is a huge asset for working together, leading, and making professional choices.
